Alden Ehrenreich Has ‘signed a deal to play Han Solo in three movies’

Via Metro.co.uk:
Actor Alden Ehrenreich has reportedly signed a deal to play Han Solo in three upcoming movies.
Star Wars fans were sent into a frenzy after it was confirmed the 26-year-old actor would be taking up the role made famous by Harrison Ford in the upcoming spin-off prequel, but it appears Alden might be in the Star Wars universe for the long haul.
Speaking to NY Daily News, an insider said: ‘There is a real sense of excitement around the Han Solo movie and its potential.

‘Given that Han’s early adventures do not need to be tied to the Empire, it leaves story lines open with the opportunity to really give fans something different. They can explore new galaxies and crazy creatures and bring in a wide array of new characters.
‘They feel that his character has the right potential to become a central figure in several movies. They’re keeping things under wraps at the moment, but the deal is that he has signed for at least three movies,’ they added.
While merely speculation, it perhaps isn’t surprising the star would be lined-up for sequels – especially considering Christopher Miller and Phil Lord are on board to direct with their (so far) impeccable track record in The Lego Movie and 21/22 Jump Street.

Alden beat off some strong competition to the role too, with Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood and Taron Egerton all connected to the film.
The as-of-yet untitled Hans Solo spin-off film is currently scheduled to be released on 25th May 2018.
