In the short clip Star Wars: Fixed, which was edited and uploaded to YouTube by ABC producer Huw Parkinson, Mr Pyne repeatedly reassures the Empire’s top military brass: “I’ve dealt with it.”

“I’m a fixer. I’ve fixed it,” he says with a grin on his face.
The mashup clip uses the most memorable outtakes from Mr Pyne’s calling himself “the fixer” on Sky News last week after his plan to deregulate the higher education sector was blocked in the Senate.

Mr Pyne took to social media this afternoon, jokingly posting that was ready to take on a starring role in the next Star Wars film.

“I’m available for Star Wars VII if JJ Abrams wants to know, “ he said.
