Was The Shuttle In Rey’s Vision A Clue To Her Parents’ Identity?

Via Digitalspy.com:
That vision of Daisy Ridley’s hero might hold another secret.

We can’t quite believe the ongoing ability for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to spin off more and more fan theories without any sign of slowing down even five months after the fact.

There are some eagle-eyed fans out there, and Reddit user smokey_sunrise is the latest to pick up on an intriguing nugget from Star Wars’ 40 years of lore.

Remember the shuttle we saw in Rey’s vision, apparently taking her parents away from Jakku and leaving her all on her lonesome?

Well, a strikingly similar ship has been seen before… in a 1984 issue of Marvel’s classic Star Wars comic.

The shuttle was used by Luke Skywalker after the events of Return of the Jedi. Could this be another clue that he really is Rey’s dad?

Even Lucasfilm’s designers are getting in on the action (via Moviepilot).

Disney are reportedly happy for writers to take inspiration from the Star Wars Extended Universe, so this theory doesn’t seem beyond the realms of possibility.

Rey actress Daisy Ridley recently poured cold water on theories that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s Jyn Erso could be her character’s mother.

Expect more revelations about Force sensitive parentage in Star Wars Episode 8 when it is released in December 2017.
