BEHIND-THE-SCENES STILLS FROM STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE

Via Ign.com:

To celebrate the British Film Institute’s amazing new exhibition ‘On-Set – Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’ we’ve been given a set of exclusive shots from behind-the-scenes of the sci-fi classic.

Taken from script supervisor Ann Skinner’s personal collection – which has never before been made public – the superb stash includes Skinner’s own notated script pages, details of a deleted scene alongside photos of characters that failed to make it into the finished film, and pictures of stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing relaxing between takes.

They offer a fascinating glimpse into the making of one of the most influential films in celluloid history, and feature some pretty unique images for fans of the franchise, including Darth Vader sporting a massive pair of sideburns, and Grand Moff Tarkin with a big smile on his face.

The exclusive gallery can be viewed below, while BFI archive curator Nathalie Morris talks us through this amazing collection in the video at the top of this page.
