John Boyega Reflects On Carrie Fisher

Via Digitalspy.com:

John Boyega has paid tribute to Carrie Fisher for her wit, intelligence and being herself.

In a recent interview, the Star Wars actor revealed his admiration for the actress, who passed away in December 2016 after filming scenes for the most recent Star Wars movie The Last Jedi.

“[Carrie was a] great woman,” he told The Guardian.

“She represented to me what I needed to see at the time – somebody who was just unapologetically herself, somebody who does not fit into any category.

“She was quirky, smart and intelligent. If you got her jokes, you felt intelligent because there was always wordplay – you’d really laugh because you’re thinking, ‘I got that!'”

Boyega is not the only Star Wars actor to pay tribute to Carrie in the past week, as Harrison Ford also paid his respects to Fisher on Thursday (March 8).

The Han Solo actor made an appearance at Mark Hamill’s Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles, when he remembered his former friend (and love interest) .

“When thinking about today, I was really sorry we don’t have the other member of our trio to celebrate with us, but I feel her presence,” Ford said.

Indeed, it seems the legacy of Carrie Fisher is ongoing, as Adam Driver also revealed the valuable advice Fisher gave him before her passing in October last year.
