Star Wars Filming Boosts Gloucestershire Tourism

Filming of the seventh Star Wars film in the Forest of Dean has since sparked a boom in interest from holidaymakers..

Holiday website, holidaycottages.co.uk has reported an increase in bookings and demand in the area since the confirmation filming was taking place in November.

Since then it has recorded a 84.8 per cent in bookings.

In additionGloucestershire has seen searches increase with a massive 69.1 per cent increase in people looking to holiday in the area.

Perfect for holiday breaks and woodland walks, the Forest of Dean’s puzzlewood attracts hundreds every year for its magical atmosphere and lush greenery.

Known for its extensive list of TV and film cameos, Puzzlewood has also recently been exposed as the inspiration for J.R.R Tolkien’s enchanted woodland scenes in his famous fantasy trilogy, Lord of the Rings.

Thirty years after the classic Return of the Jedi, Star Wars returns with a bang, tantalising eyes of all ages with two new teaser trailers.

Scheduled for release on December 18, Star Wars Episode VII sparked speculation across the world as to its filming whereabouts.

As to which part of the film Puzzlewood will be featured, we are not yet sure, but we are sure to be sat on the edge of our seats until the release of the film.
