Star Wars Inspired Escape Room

A new Star Wars-themed escape room is coming to Manchester, modelled on the films’ famous space cantina.

Escape the Cantina will be the biggest escape room in the world according to moviESCAPE, which is opening the site in September.

Fans of the George Lucas film franchise must use The Force to try to break out of the room, where film sets, props and live actors will create an immersive experience.

Run by a team of film producers and attraction owners, moviESCAPE already operates two cinema-themed escape rooms in Stockport and Ashton-under-Lyne.

The company has teamed up with sci-fi fan convention For the Love of Sci-Fi to launch the latest attraction, which is due to open in September at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Trafford Park.

A spokesperson for moviESCAPE said: “While escape rooms are popping up all over the country, ours are more of an interactive and immersive experience.

“Our customers leave feeling like they have been part of an experience rather than just a game. The feedback from customers has been amazing. moviESCAPE uses film props and sets to build the ultimate movie themed experience.”

“As film makers and fans we have done everything we can to make the players feel like they are in a movie. We have used real movie sets, props and crew to ensure our clients get the best experience possible. People have likened the quality of the rooms to attractions at major theme parks like Universal studios.

“We chose to theme our first two rooms as horror due to Halloween, but we are currently working with production designers to plan our adventure, action and family themed rooms.”

Work will also begin soon on a new Harry Potter-inspired Merlin’s Magic Academy game at the Stockport site in Bredbury as part of plans to create a theme-park style film attraction there.
