How Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Ties Directly Into Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now officially open to the public after years of anticipation. Disneyland guests who were lucky enough to snag a highly coveted reservation are now able to roam around the new area of the Anaheim theme park and interact with the Star Wars universe like never before. But, this is all more than just a few new rides with some expensive merchandise. There is a story and it takes place after the events of The Last Jedi and it sets up The Rise of Skywalker.

At the conclusion of The Last Jedi, the Resistance has been pretty much wiped out. The Rise of Skywalker takes place after a time jump because the Resistance needed some time to rebuild, which is where Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge comes into play. The new theme park expansion takes place on the planet Batuu, where the Resistance has landed in an effort to rebuild and gain allies. While on Batuu, General Organa has a plan.
