Hasbro Fan Vote 2020 Is LIVE!

Posted on by

We are very excited to have again been asked by Hasbro to be part of the Official Fan Vote!!! We have done these in the past and they are always a great time.  Let’s go over how this will work!

Starting today, Friday May 1st at 1pm EST, the voting is now OPEN at Yodasnews!

You are placing a vote for your favorite Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series figure to be refreshed with photoreal deco (if applicable) and join The Black Series Archive line as one of the top Star Wars: The Black Series figures!

Once voting closes we will send our top 10 picks to Hasbro, they will then use that list and input from the other fan sites that were asked to participate to host a final fan vote on Hasbro Pulse on Friday, 5/15!

To vote, you need to e-mail us at Yodasnews@gmail.com with the subject line 2020 HASBRO FAN VOTE – Please make sure that you use that specific subject so we are sure to make every vote count!

Fan Vote Guidelines:

  • Fans can vote on any character that has been featured in the Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series Line to be made as a refresh with photoreal deco (if applicable) and put into the Black Series Archive line.
  • This would need to be a figure that Hasbro has created for the Black Series line in the past (no new figures)
  • Must be able to be executed in the Archive expression (ie. Could not be a vehicle, Jabba the Hut, the Wampa etc.)
  • Only 1 vote can be submitted per fan per day
  • Voting ends at 11:59pm EST on Friday, 5/8.
  • Hasbro Pulse will host the final vote featuring the top 10 figures on Friday, 5/15

That’s it!  Thank you to Hasbro for asking us to take part in the Fan Vote again!

Hasbro Pulse Fan First Fridays!

Via Hasbro Pulse:

It’s our favorite day of the week and we are celebrating by sharing something we’re pumped to try out with you: Hasbro Pulse Fan First Fridays! What does this mean, you ask? It means that every Friday moving forward, we’ll be sharing something fun, new, and exciting about some of your favorite brands, like profiles of the talented artists behind our packaging, Q&A’s with brand teams, and even some unique video content that brings you behind the scenes of the making of your favorite products. Heck! There may even be fresh reveals or perhaps a pre-order or two (or three).

Today we’re kicking off Fan First Friday by giving you a first look at some of the packaging of the recently revealed Star Wars figures, along with some fun factoids. Enjoy!

Did you know the original Power Droid action figure that came with this cardback in 1979 was not movie accurate? This is the first time this card will come with an accurate, movie-inspired figure.

Custom art was created for a photo real version of Commander Wolffe to be used as the filmout for the front of the card.

This is K-2SO’s first time being featured on Vintage cardback and is the first Star Wars Rogue One figure to be released in The Vintage Collection in more than a year.

Rare Boba Fett Expected To Sell For $80,000 At Auction

Posted on by

Via Forbes.com:

One of the Holy Grails for Star Wars collectors, the Rocket-Firing Boba Fett, is going up for auction. The rare toy is worth over $80,000 and is just one lot in the Prop Stores Toys, Comic Art & Collectibles Live Auction, which kicks off on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. The Boba Fett collectible had a starting bid of $30,000, but absentee bids have already hit $62,500 before the auction officially begins.

There is a reason why this lot, which comes with a Certificate of Authentication, or COA, has a firm place in Star Wars toy lore.

This Rocket-Firing Boba Fett, which is unpainted and made of blue plastic, is a prototype that utilized an L-Slot design named after the shape of the backpack mechanism to allow the rocket to fire. It never went into production but was used by toymaker Kenner to promote the second film in the franchise, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

It was intended to be mailed out to people who collected a certain number of proof of purchase coupons from other Star Wars toys.
