I added it to my bag and the code was applied making it $240 shipped. It did say that it would not ship for 2 weeks, but should be enough time for Christmas. Review: Imperial AT-AT Driver 1/6th Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles
The Imperial AT-AT Driver Sixth Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles is set to ship any day now from Sideshow, and we have our figure in hand right now to share with you! First, some information from Sideshow about this figure:
“From Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the Imperial AT-AT Driver Sixth Scale Figure. Most famously remembered from the Battle of Hoth, specially trained AT-AT drivers took control of the Empire’s massive All Terrain Armored Transport vehicles – or Imperial Walkers – in a devastating ground attack against the Rebels at Echo Base.”
The Imperial AT-AT Driver Sixth Scale Figure specially features:
- Fully Articulated Body
- Detailed Pilot Helmet and Armor
- Imperial Flightsuit with Harness
- Six (6) Interchangeable Hands Including:
- One (1) Pair of Fists
- One (1) Pair of Neutral Hands
- One (1) Rifle Support Hand
- One (1) Trigger Hand
- BlasTech E-11 Blaster
- Exclusive Blaster Rifle
Jumping right in, the AT-AT driver comes fitted in your iconic white and grey standard-issue uniform which is very well done, fits snug enough to look sharp on display, but loose enough for endless poses. He comes with 6 total hands, as mentioned above, to supports various poses, these of course can also be mixed and matched for a custom look. If you ordered directly from Sideshow, you get both the BlasTech E-11 Blaster and the Blaster Rifle. I think I will display mine with the BlasTech E-11 in hand and the rifle over the shoulder.
The real beauty on this piece is the detail in the helmet which is connected by the pressure hoses to a his life support system. The helmet is dead on from the movie, the paint lines are crisp and clean and there are even little details like the red paint missing on one side of the aluminum tusks in the recessed areas of the chin, two small squares on either side of the Mohawk (left side is red, right side is silver). It sports the two red Imperial cog symbols on either side of the Mohawk. It’s flawless!
The chest armor and chest box are also detailed, right down to the circuit details and “greeblies” on front of chest box. Attached to the box we have the two grey ribbed hoses that run from rear helmet canisters, over the shoulders and down to the chest box. The back of the armor has the “circuit board” pattern and various board plates. The standard “moon boots” finish off a truly beautiful piece by Sideshow. The time and attention to detail can be seen on this from head to toe!
The figure stands great on his own, but does come with your standard black stand if desired. The figure sells for $209.99 and can be pre-ordered right now at this link. We would like to thank Sideshow for providing this early review sample to share with our readers, this is a welcome addition to the collection!
Review: The Black Series Astromech Droids 3 3/4-Inch Action Figures – Entertainment Earth Exclusive
Today, we bring you an early look at the Astromech Droids 3 3/4-Inch Action Figures Set, which is exclusive to EntertainmentEarth.com. The set is priced at $79.99 with Free Shipping, making each droid an average price of $13.33, which is around the average price of the 3 ¾” Black series figures. These figures come packaged in a very cool R2-D2 shaped box, which has a huge window so MIB collectors can display this and still see all of the droids. But you get best of both worlds with this set, as if you just cut the tape cleanly at the top 2 flaps, you can remove all 6 droids without any damage to the interior, there are no twist ties or rubber bands. The box itself stands just over 16-inches tall.
The six droids included are:
- Jabba’s bartender (Return of the Jedi)
- R7-F5 (Clone Wars)
- QT-KT (Clone Wars)
- R7-D4 (Clone Wars)
- R2-C2 (Clone Wars)
- R2-A5 (A New Hope)
All six droids feature rolling wheels, jointed domes, periscope port, drop down third leg and a hinged door with a utility behind it. The paint application is great on these guys, hardly any overspray and the bold unique colors are great representations on what we have seen on the big and small screen. The drink dispenser, cups and tray are very well done for such a small scale and the cups sit nicely in the small tabs on the tray. There was a small issue with the 3rd leg staying in place with a few of these, but playing around with it a few times solved the issue. On display for a long time, I could see the 3rd leg on some of these “giving out” but it’s not anything we haven’t seen before.
As you will see in the image gallery below, there are small numbers stamped on the back of each dome, those numbers also match up to the gold numbers stamped on the back of the box. We checked with EE and they informed us these are early sample pre-release sets, and they do not anticipate those markings to be on the final samples.
Overall, I think this is a great set for all collectors, but droids collectors specifically should be head over heals for this set. It was very well done, and although nothing on the packs states it is “The Black Series”, it is branded as such by EE and the quality and articulation is in line with The Black Series. We want to give a big thanks to the folks at EntertainmentEarth.com for supplying this early sample for us to review.
Check out the full gallery of images below. This is due out in November and can be pre-ordered at this link.
