I’m always curious about the tech behind the games we visit for Game Informer’s cover stories, and with Respawn being an EA owned company, one of my biggest questions was what kind of engine they were using and whether they got to make that call.

We inquired about the topic with game director Stig Asmussen and Respawn’s CEO Vince Zampella in a quick video above, and they spoke freely on whether EA had a say in it and their own philosophy on picking the right software to work with.
