Rancho Obi-Wan Death Star Auction Announcement

Prop Store and Rancho Obi-Wan present an extraordinary collection of Star Wars-inspired art in the Rancho Obi-Wan Death Star Auction. This collection represents the hard work of over 30 artists, who applied their talents and Star Wars love to create one-of-a-kind works of art out of the franchise’s most deadly planet-killer in a celebration of art, science fiction, and that galaxy far, far away.

Rancho Obi-Wan is a publicly supported, not-for-profit museum located in Petaluma, California housing the world’s largest Star Wars memorabilia collection as certified by Guinness World Records in 2014. Proceeds from this auction support Rancho Obi-Wan’s ongoing mission to inspire people by showcasing the collection and promoting a warm, joyous, inclusive environment for a fun, authentic fan experience. We present collectibles, works of art, and fan-made pieces to inspire others to be imaginative, creative, seek new information and learn new crafts.

This fall, come see Star Wars memorabilia rarely shown in an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Proceeds from these tours keep the museum operational for the fall. Come spend some quality time with us–get tickets now!

  • Each tour is limited to a maximum of 20 attendees. Adults only, 21 years and older.  This is high quality time!
  • Start with a glass of wine from Skywalker Vineyards, local brew, or sparkling water.
  • Proceed with a full museum tour led by Steve Sansweet! Steve will share stories about his collection and his history as a journalist, a collector, Head of Fan Relations at Lucasfilm and President of Rancho Obi-Wan.
  • Enjoy a special presentation on the theme which is not normally covered on regular tours. See below for subject schedule.
  • Relax with a beverage while playing video games or having a casual discussion with the presenters.
  • Be entertained by video clips culled from the depths of the collection.
  • Sit down to dinner featuring Annie’s TexaCali BBQ straight from our R2-BQ smoker. Texas brisket, pulled pork, vegetarian sides and salads, decedent dessert and coffee.
  • Take home a special souvenir.
  • Receive a tax-deductible donation receipt for $150.00 (half of your $299 ticket price is a donation which supports the continued operation of the museum). Many thanks!

Hello friends! On behalf of everyone at Rancho Obi-Wan, THANK YOU for coming to see us at Star Wars Celebration Chicago. It was great to see so many friends and make new ones. Your support there was integral to our continued operation. If you didn’t get to Chicago, we hope to see you at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, August 27-30, 2020 where our exhibit will take you back 40 years to Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

Save the dates – June 12-13, 2020 for Return of the Gala! Friday, the 12th, will be reserved for wine tasting featuring wines from Skywalker Vineyards. Saturday the 13th, enjoy the long summer day with a barbeque, games, auctions and fun! This year’s 2019 Fundraiser takes a different turn with an online auction of original art and other items. More information coming this fall. Hint: DS-1.

Star Wars Day at the Park – Come see us at the San Francisco Giants Star Wars Day at the Park, Sunday, September 15, 2019. We will have a small exhibit of helmets at the VIP Experience in Triples Alley that starts at 10:35am. Those attending the VIP event get 3 Giants Star Wars collector’s items! Special tickets are required.

Introducing Deep Dive Tours – This fall we will host a series of themed in-depth experiences here at Rancho Obi-Wan. See things rarely shown in an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Tickets go on sale August 7,2019.

The Rancho Obi-Wan Experience is at Star Wars Celebration Chicago April 11-15, 2019

Our exhibit will feature a 20-year retrospective on Star Wars Celebration, dazzling collectibles for the female fan, and a stunning display of helmets.

In addition we will have a great variety of Rancho Obi-Wan branded merchandise for sale, a super fun spinning wheel with an assortment of merchandise from the Star Wars collecting past, and a sweepstakes you can enter to win a book autographed by George Lucas.

Rancho Obi-Wan Merchandise Pre-order & Celebration Chicago 2019 Information

Rancho Obi-Wan will be at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, April 11-15, 2019, McCormick Place West, hall F1, booth #5516! The 1,200 square foot exhibit will feature three special displays–come see us!

You will be greeted by a 20-year retrospective on Star Wars Celebration, the first of which was in Denver in May, 1999 and developed by our own Steve Sansweet. 12 conventions later, the expectations, activities and fandom itself has evolved and changed. Take a walk down memory lane or view these items for the first time.

Next, what does it mean to be a female fan of the Saga? How has fem fan expression changed in the decades since 1977? Come see a fun selection of items and collectibles from then and now and learn what makes this subset of fans tick.

Finally, it wouldn’t be an exhibit worthy of our Guinness World Record without a massive display of helmets from the collection here at Rancho Obi-Wan. From the very first licensed helmet by Don Post to high-end collectibles and detailed cosplay replicas, from fan-made to artform, this colorful display will have you mesmerized.  All current supporting Members of Rancho Obi-Wan will be emailed a “lightspeed pass” allowing them to bypass the queue into our exhibit at Celebration.
