New LEGO Buildable Figures
LEGO just announced 2 additional LEGO Star Wars large scale Buildable Figures that are launching in September. General Grevious and Obi-Wan Kenobi!
The Battle for the galaxy is going to get bigger! Expanding the way children can build and play within the Star Wars universe, new LEGO® Star Wars™ large scale Buildable Figures are launching in September. The first sets featuring Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker were unveiled at New York Toy Fair in February, with four more being unveiled this week at Star War Celebration.
The six sets are Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight, General Grevious, Obi-Wan Kenobi Jango Fett and Commander Cody. The last four will be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration and all six models will be on display. Prices range from $19.99 to $34.99 and will be available in September 2015.
LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales Panel at SWC
LEGO will be having a special “Behind the scenes: LEGO® Star Wars™ Droid Tales” panel happening this Friday at 4pm! Michael Price, Michael Donovan and Jason Cosler will all be discussing the new series- a re-telling of the Star Wars universe through the eyes of C-3P0 and R2-D2- airing later this year and answering any questions you may have.
To celebrate the series, they created a LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales poster, located on the back of each LEGO Star Wars movie poster. They will be giving them at Celebration! See the entire schedule below for all activities!

We’re also giving these away to fans at Star Wars Celebration next week!
Those who can’t make it to the show can also get their hands on SW Episode IV: A New Hope poster during a May the 4th promotion at local LEGO brand retails stores or at shop.LEGO.com with the chance to collect a new poster each month.

Legoland California Adds Huge Death Star Model To ‘Star Wars’ Miniland

In the Legoland universe, everything is awesome — even the planet-destroying Death Star weapon owned by the Empire in the “Star Wars” films.
Legoland California Resort on Wednesday evening will roll out a Death Star model for its “Star Wars” Miniland, which opened in 2011. In the films, the Death Star possesses lasers so powerful it can wipe out whole planets.
Leogland’s model measures 8 feet wide, stands 13 feet high and weighs more than 1,900 pounds.
It’s made from 500,000 Lego bricks and captures the scene in the 1977 “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope” in which Luke Skywalker bravely guides his X-wing fighter through heavy combat to destroy the deadly mega-weapon.
The display includes other weapons and fighters, such as turbolaser turrets and starships.
The highly anticipated “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is scheduled to open Dec. 18. Until then, you can get your “Star Wars” fix this weekend at the California theme park.
Legoland California visitors may spend Saturday and Sunday celebrating the park’s annual “Star Wars” Days. Activities include brick building competitions, Jedi Trivia and a costume contest.

If you are a Lego fan, chances are that you might have seen this Lego creation lurking about the Fan sites. If you are not familiar with Lego, you have to check out how Awesome Lego can be now! This project is an original interpretation of the Empire Strikes Back Probot by myself, and it has been submitted to the ‘Lego Ideas’ crowd-sourcing platform.
Built completely from Lego bricks, the Probot is made up of approximately 550 pieces, stands at about 15 inches tall (including stand) and comes decked out in full movie accurate details. Click on the ‘Updates’ section in the Lego link to access research and development processes and photos. To do justice to such an iconic droid, I tried my best to get this Lego version as close to the movie as I could, from the size and profile of the eyes to the unique claw design of each leg. Proper locking mechanisms are used to put this droid together and I assure everyone that no Legos were forced or damaged during the build process. As a bonus, the Probot is scaled to be 1/6th scale, so that you could display it independently , or create a scene with other figures.

I humbly hope the project will get the nod of agreement from the strict fellow fans. Though it is not the most prominent ship from the Star Wars Universe, the Probot remains one of the most iconic droids to me. It played such a pivotal role in setting the dark tone for ESB, that I knew I had to build a scaled tribute to it with this Lego version.

LEGO DIORAMA SHOWS HOW BOBA FETT ESCAPED THE SARLACC

Boba Fett met his doom upon the sands of Tatooine in Return of the Jedi. He fell into the Great Pit of Carkoon into the mouth of the fearful and if we’re being honest, really gross, Sarlacc. It’s an awful fate that means he’ll be kept alive and slowly digested for over a thousand years. Yuck. Stories in Star Wars Legends (non-canon) have resurrected Boba Fett by claiming he managed to crawl out of the pit and avoid being consumed by the Sarlacc, but LEGO builder Daniel Stoeffler has come up with another idea and he brought his story to life with a massive, detailed diorama.

Re-telling of classic Star Wars adventures in LEGO® brick form will help fans of all ages “catch up” on the legend
ENFIELD, Conn. (February 27, 2015) – The LEGO Group, world renowned manufacturer of construction toys, today announced that Disney XD has acquired LEGO® Star Wars™: Droid Tales for airing later this year. The animated content series consists of five 22-minute episodes that re-tell the Star Wars saga in chronological order from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace up through Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Disney XD is also currently home to the animated hit series Star Wars Rebels.
“Since we introduced our first LEGO Star Wars set in 1999, we have seen and heard from countless Star Wars fans who have used LEGO bricks to tell their own version of this timeless story, re-enacting favorite scenes and imagining new story lines,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president of licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group. “LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales gives us an opportunity to share highlights of the Star Wars story with a sense of humor and excitement that can only be conveyed through the LEGO brick, and will be a fun resource for families as they gear up for the next movie.”
As its title suggests, Droid Tales is a re-telling of the Star Wars universe through the eyes of C-3P0 and R2-D2. Following their victory celebration in the Ewok village on Endor, seen at the close of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, C-3PO and R2-D2 have gathered to regale Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and the other Rebels with the tales of their adventures that led to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. An accidental kidnapping occurs while the droids are reminiscing and suddenly viewers are taken on a new adventure that leads to encounters with familiar faces and places that prompt the re-telling of the entire saga. The series offers all of the playful humor that viewers expect from LEGO Star Wars.
Information on airdates for each episode is not yet available. Additional LEGO Star Wars activities to get the family caught up will launch throughout the year.
LEGO STAR WARS CHARACTER ENCYCLOPEDIA AND PROTO FETT MINIFIGURE
